What Beginner Bike?

Looking for a nice bike for a beginner. I'm 5'6" about 200Lbs. I took the riders course on a Suzuki GS250. I am looking for a little more power, and something a little prettier.

New Bike

Looking into a Kawasaki Vulcan 500. Good cruiser for a good price. Can do well with 2 riders as far as hp. What does everyone else think?

V Star

I rode the same bike in the safety course. A great one to start on. I just bought my first bike: A 650 V Star Classic. I'm only 5'4" and I can put my feet down flat. Very comfortable. A great first bike!

First Bike

I like the sport bike look, so I went with the new Suzuki Gladius SFV650. It has plenty of pick up but still handles really smoothly.

An Idea

I bought a 2003 Honda Shadow 750 and it fits me perfectly. I am about 5'5" and both feet touch the ground, flat. That may be an idea.

Which Bike to Buy

I am 5'6" 240 pounds and I purchased a Honda Shadow 600 and love it. The style is so similar to a Harley, my feet are firmly on the ground when I get on and off. I just love it, I suggest getting crash bars on whatever bike you buy, just another added security blanket in case you dump the bike you won't get pinned and you can't get the bike off you (believe me I know it happened to me) because it is a heavy bike. Good luck shopping.

My New Bike

I took my course in August. I'm in LOVE with my bike - a Suzuki Boulevard C50. It has a lot of the amenities of larger, more expensive bikes like floor boards and a heel shifter but it's much lighter, and will stay up with my boyfriends Harley Fat Boy.
