Went out riding for the first time and loved it!!

I finally went riding for the first time yesterday and I absolutely loved it!! Granted I still need work...I need to improve my shifting ( both upshifting and downshifting) and I need to work on my turns making them a little tighter and some braking as well but I did 80 miles yesterday. I went all around my neighborhood and then on the highway (going pretty fast I must say) I just love it. I dont think im ready to go out in heavy traffic yet. I went out very late last night with hardly any cars on the road. It is such a thrill. I hadnt been riding since I passed my MSF course 3 months ago. I cant wait to get better and better!!

Being smooth at shifting, braking, accelerating, and knowing when to turn through a corner will all come with lots of hours on your bike! Congratulations on your first ride in the "real" world - here's to many more! :)

Loved riding!!

I absolutely love my bike. Its perfect for me and has just enough power. I rode it of course only once so far but I plan on going out more this week and practicing!! Like I said my BF has been hard on me but thats because he is worried for my safety and wants to make sure I will be ok. He doesnt plan on telling me im a "good" rider until I actually get there and Im "good" all the way around. Yea I can turn good and go fast but Im having issues shifting and braking just slightly. I need better coordination and more experience to get use to it. But I figure the more practice I get, the better I will be.

Thank you all for your comments. Cheeing gum definitely help!!! Plus i went out with my bf. He was extra hard on me because he is of course concerned with my safety. I love it!!!! I also love my bike. I have a ducati monster 620.

Stacy, you did a fantastic job! Riding 80 miles on your first time out and in the dark is very impressive! My longest trip so far has been 87 miles and I've been riding a few months more than you...you are an inspiration! With practice and more riding time, you will get the shifting and turning conquered. Keep up the good work! Joan
