Around my area, many people buy them as a status symbol. Chrome them out, wash them up, and ride them around the block. So 4 or 5 years later, they have a bike with only 1000 miles if that. And I'm not talking about Sporty's either.
I also find some that buy them and realize a year later, they can't afford them or their mid life crisis has passed. Either way, it amazes me. One day when I can afford a Harley, I will get one, but until then 10,000 miles on my Vulcan in 1 year ain't bad at all.

I betcha it is a Sporty, while a great bike to start out with, mine just kind of lacked (shall I say) comfort. I just traded for a 05 Heritage Softail Classic,. WOW what a difference in handling and riding. My Sporty left me with under 500 miles til I traded. I think I will be riding this alot this coming season. Loving the touring Heritage
