Two-up or Solo?

by Sproket

I'm in the middle do modifying my bike.....adding some bling, changing seats, sissybar on/maybe off. I'm struggling with what's the best way to go.

I love the solo but I find that I don't want to leave valuables in the saddlebags, I really don't want to switch to hard bags and the locks for the soft bags are well, pitiful. The sissybar allows for an extra and removeable bag but then I lose the solo attraction of the bike.

I see both on the road but I am really curious about how other women solve their "stuff" issues.

Sooo, are you two-up or solo and why?

Same bike!
by: Linda

I have the same bike in white & titanium combo. I wanted to go solo & was replacing my seat anyway to get a drivers backrest (stock was killing me)but my fiance talked me out of it. I don't ever plan on carrying a passenger but there's always that chance of an emergency also I have a pet palace to carry my dog & want it secured to the backrest. Switching between the two would be a hassle, 2up needing seat & backrest, solo needing seat & pillon pad cause there are marks on the fender that would need covered & removal of backrest. Also, seats for 900's don't come w/the latch, you have to use the one from the stocker. Just my $.02. Happy Trails to you..........

Hey Dotty,

Our bikes are almost identical! I would love to see your setup. Would you mind emailing me a picture? I will return one of mine if you like.

Thanks! - Lauren

Solo
by: Dotty

I have a 2009 Yamaha 950 and decided to go solo. I still have my passenger seat but no sissy bar or luggage rack. Sometimes when traveling long distances I wish I had them in order to pack more stuff. I'm learning how to travel light though, there's always Wal Mart somewhere along the way. My saddle bags hold a good bit of stuff and when traveling I have a bag that's strapped to the passenger seat. For everyday riding I have a tank bag which comes in handy for glasses, sun screen and other stuff.
Be safe.
