Take the motorcycle riders course.

The best thing I did was to take the 3 day riders course. I am 57 and had not ever ridden a street bike. I learned so much in the class that I don't believe would have come naturally otherwise. I feel like I am a safer rider and more observant since taking the course. Once you take the course then ride, ride, ride! I ride by myself, or with my husband or friends. The main thing is to ride and apply what you learned. I have ridden 5000 miles this past year and I love it. Just wish I had not waited so long to start enjoyin' the ride.
