still puzzled by it, but perhaps cut it off!

this is me on a good day (hair-wise)

My problem is not the flatness but the boofy-ness. I have thick, messy, waist length brown hair, which after I take my helmet off has either gone all frizzy from the helmet going against the grain of my hair - neatly brushed into plait, or the hot weather has made all the hair around my hair line stick to my forehead and I look like a sweaty frump. so, I thought that I might get my hair cut into a posh bob or the like (short at back, long at front). then I can flick it all back, squeeze on the helmet and let it all fall forwards, sweat free upon removal. I'll let you know how it goes. maybe I am too optimistic and then I will have cut all my hair off in aid of a fruitless helmet hair experiment.

If I don't plait it, I tuck it into my t-shirt and under my bra strap (very classy - I know) and I don't put it up at ll I have one big dreadlock. Has anyone noticed how the women in bike mags all have their hair down and look fabulously tangle free? Why not have a rats nest woman with pushed in cheeks! :)

Also - does anyone wash the lining of their helmet? mine is a bit smelly and I thought I might handwash it. Is this fine?

I have only had my bike for 12 months, just a baby...

the hair thing
by: Anonymous

I as a hairdresser would think that if you cut it it will bush out even more because you would have cut the weight away. I as a motorcyclist have long hair but unfortunately it isn't thick or bushy. Mine is thin and flat. I personally don't care how it looks after the helmet is off. I carry a cap with me and I also wear that under my helmet to help with the breakage on top of my head. I find it works. I also put my hair in a ponytail and that seems to keep it from getting to tangled. The hair around my face stills comes towards my eyes. My boyfriend on the other hand has nice thick hair and curly so when I am around I braid it for him and if not around he puts several pony holders in it to keep if flying around to his face. I hope this helps but remember that you take the weight off it will get big. If that is how your hair reacts. remember back in school?
