riding with a small group of friends

I have had my 1993 Honda Shadow VLX since
1996. Most of the time because of obligations I didn't ride much and I just tried to ride it so it wouldn't sit too long. I never thought I'd like to ride with a group but I've just gotten some new friends (three old men, with "over the hill" t shirts. I refuse to wear one. So I've started fixing up my bike. I got heel and toe shifter (MC Enterprises), which one of the guys put on for me. What a difference having a floorboard instead of a peg on long trips!! And I've decided to get new Cobra pipes and a new windshield. My point is I probably would have never done all this if it wasn't for my new friends. Just wanted to share my experience.

I am getting my first street bike!

I have ridden enduros and dirt bikes(I actually got my motorcycle lic with the enduro). I have always wanted one so I just bought a 1997 Honda shadow vlx 600. I am going to take a safety class and practice, practice, practice. I love it! I look forward to making new riding friends!

don't ever get rid of your bike -- I almost did a couple of times. You WILL have a point in your life where you can ride.

Maybe there's hope for me yet that someday riding will better fit into my life schedule!!
