on for the long ride

In the 1st week of May 08, I traveled from MA to MI on my 2001 K1200 RS. What a ride! 855 miles one way.
Traveling on Rte 90 was great and lets just say the temp in early May was brisk at best. I learned a few things. 'I CAN DO IT!' Staying at a Comfort Inn was ok but not perfect. The rooms were clean but ended up in a non-smoking rm in a hallway of smokers! Not pleasent. (lesson #1 learned: ask for non-smoking rm and hallway!) Traveling on the way home was a non stop trip. No overnight stays in a smokie motel. Just Gas and potty runs. Yes it was 855 miles from driveway to driveway. I have to admit my husband was there to help me off the bike when I reached home. But I DID IT.
I will be traveling with 3 others (all men, 1 husband and 2 sons)at the begining of August. There is a difference with women vs men on a long haul! I have noticed-- is that women have longer endurance on a bike. I call it 'mind set'. We can do anything when we set our minds to it.
As a family we are heading out west in 2 wks.
I think that it is about time we start helping each other with hints and suggestions on riding! I am always amazed that more women don't ride. check out RideBabeRide.com Coming soon
