HD Sportster 1200 XL Custom

HD Sportster 1200 XL Custom

I own a 2005 HD Sportster 1200 XL Custom. 2-1 python pipes, no baffles with a screaming eagle...and scream it will. My bike is the loudest one in our riding club and I love it. Some of the older guys refuse to ride behind me, because I love to make it scream... :=)

Love to ride it whenever I can.

Sorry to hear that
by: Nathan

Sorry to hear about his health condition. I pray for comfort and peace during this time. I hope that you receive strength from above and cherish the memories of riding for the days to come...

Thank You
by: Heike

I am...right now it's pretty hard. He's been in the hospital since Tuesday and there's no telling how long he'll have to stay. He's been running a fever every day, hasn't eaten anything in 9 days now. They have an IV with nutrients going, but now he's even lost his appetite. All we can do is take one day at a time.

Thanks for the prayers, they're sure are needed.

I hate that you and your husband are having to endure this. Enjoy every moment you can with him and remember all the good memories and rides you did together. Prayers for you and family.

Ride
by:

I don't think he'll be able to ride anymore. He's back in the hospital right now and it's not looking good at all. He hasn't eaten anything but a nibble here and there in 7 days. In constant pain, this dreadful cancer is just eating away in him. Taking it day by day and enjoying the time I have with him.

Solo Seat

So sorry about your husband, I would stay home also. Mine had a heart attack last year and traded his dresser for a Heritage classic, this is lighter for him to handle. We still ride all the time but take shorter trips right now. About 1500 to 2000 miles. Next year we plan on going west as we live in SC.

LOUD PIPES SAVE LIVES
by: BMWKT

Had some guy follow me to a gun shop once just to tell me he thought my pipes wee too loud. What an idiot. Told him "I like to hear what I'm riding." LO

Solo Seat
by: Anonymous

Yup, that's the same complaint from our guys with the dressers. Well, I say if you want to listen to music either go home and do it or get you some headphones...LOL

I had taken my ipod with me to listen to music while I ride, but I couldn't get it to play loud enough for me to hear it over my pipes. I rather hear the sound of my pipes over music anyways...LOL

I changed my seat to a solo seat as well. It's comfortable and I can ride just as long as one on one with their recliner seat on theirs :-)

Right now it's a bit hard for me to ride, because my husband has been diagnosed with terminal stage 4 lung cancer, which had already spread to his lymph nodes, brain, liver and kidney. He's on 12 hr morphine pills and doesn't need to be riding, even though he says he could. So I chose to stay home with him. I could go ride, but he loves it as much as I do and that's just like flaunting a cookie to a kid and not giving it to him. I can't do that to him.

In the meantime, we go to our club meetings once a week and I just drool seeing my club members come to the meeting on their bikes. :)~

loud also
by: Jan

I have an 06 1200 XL Custom with Vance and Hines short shots. Mine is loud and the dressers complain that they can't hear their music. I put the solo seat on mine and can travel as long as the big guys. We make long road trips, like Nova Scotia, Keys, gulf coast and up from outer banks in NC to Maine. Wouldn't trade it for the world. This is my 3rd sportster.

That's why they make so many different options - there's something for everyone who wants to ride!

Enjoy yours - stay safe!

Change back?
by: Heike

Change back to what? The quiet part? NO WAY...I love mine being that loud...If you can't see me, you WILL hear me... :-)

Me, too!
by: Sandra

Not the Harley part, but loudest bike in our group with no one wanting to follow me...

I'd change back in a heartbeat if it were in the budget!

Still...LOVE the ride - even from the tail end!LOL
