I also rode solo for a couple of years before trying out group rides. There are a lot of riding groups in the dv/md/va area on Meetup.com. I joined Virginia Sport Riders and went on a couple of their rides and had a great time. I was worried about riding in a group at first, but everyone was helpful and supportive. I started talking with some members outside of the usual group rides and now we do our own smaller rides on the weekends. Shoot me a PM on meetup if you end up signing up and you have questions.
