Longest ride yet
by Rhetta
Me and hubby just returned from a whirlwind trip from Florida to upper/lower Michigan, took the ferry over to Wisconsin to visit the grandkids. Then over the bridge of the Mississippi to Iowa. We visited the American Pickers store, then bee-lined it down to their Nashville store. What a trip!! I think he said it was like 3300 or 3400 miles. My 2002 Suzuki C-50 (Volusia) 800 did her best. We struggled a bit on the hills. But we made it. I kept her up while on the interstate with semi's blowing past me. Whew.. that was quite the experience. This is my 3rd year as a rider, as I got my license at age 50. I figure I get bragging rights on this one. The bike did great, only lost the front blinker due the rough roads up north. WOW! How do you guys keep a car up there? We did 10 states: Florida, Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, Kentucky, Indiana, Michigan, Wisconsin, Iowa, Illinois. Just remember: Keep riding and enjoy the ride!!~
