Just because we ride like hell, doesn't mean we have to look like it!

by Tera Shaffer

I have been a rider for years! When I first started, I wore a full face, now I wear a cool Lid! Now, let me explain my make-up dilemma with both!

When I wore a full face, I felt it was wearing my face by the end of the ride, and what it wasn't wearing, I had sweated off! Then with my beanie, I have to worry about bugs, road grime, sun burn, and wind burn!

I am a motorcycle diva, and no, it's not a fashion show, but I am also the mother of three! In saying that, when I get to ride, I want to look good for a day out with my hubby! I don't want to trade the normal stuff I wear, like applesauce, for road grime! I want to arrive looking as good as I did when I left!

So, my husband has been working with bikes as a wrench and custom builder for over 17 years....so he is a true biker....TRUST ME ON THIS! And I have worked in retail and cosmetics for almost 18 years, and wondered why there wasn't a cosmetic line for female bikers!?!

So, I googled it! And I found Bika Chic Cosmetics! I am, as of last week, the new Southern Distributor for Bika Chic! I was so impressed! There is a foundation that is a moisturiser, sun screen, and tint all in one! OMG!!!!! I love it! And trust me, I do not wear make up every day because of all the steps and settling in my over 30 "smile" lines....etc. But I love putting this on! And my husband who tells me "you don't need it" has unknowingly told me he can tell a difference!

STOP the preaching/website for makeup?
by: Sunny

Is there someplace I can get this makeup online? Sounds promising. I have the same problem, depending on my helmet, or lack of. So I too need something multifunctional.

To anonymous: STOP preaching about the helmets!

I've seen similar comments on several posts, and this is a waste of my time reading and yours for posting. We all KNOW the risks. We aren't stupid. PERSONAL decision, not yours. Wear your helmet and don't worry about what I'm doing!

I wear a helmet most of the time, but sometimes I don't. None of your concern either way. Even if I wreck, I'm an organ donor, so someone will benefit. My helmet use or lack thereof doesn't affect you one bit.

Lids
by: Anonymous

A good friend of mine would have still had her husband if he wasn't wearing the lid. Traumatic brain injury now he is gone. If he had a proper helmet he would have had a concussion. He had been riding for many years and taught her.

A proper helmet is worth more to your 3 children and your brain . Makeup there is all kinds to look good with a good helmet. I don't wear a full face as I feel so claustrophobic but I do wear a half face helmet but no lid for me. I rest my case.

Safe riding.
