"Do one thing that scares you everyday." - Eleanor Roosevelt
by Amberlynn
My inspiration to start riding was my boyfriend, who returned home from a 6 month Motorcycle Adventure from New Hampshire to South America. I was eager to learn how to ride. A friend gave me a beat up dirtbike, the “Lone Wolf”. With no front brake and a gas tank that was held on by an old frayed rope. I was ready to get started. I suited up in my boyfriends riding pants which were 2 sizes too big, an old motorcycle coat, also way too big, a motocross helmet and gloves that had holes between every finger. Yes! I am all geared up and ready to go! Not exactly what I had pictured in my dreams, but hey it will work. After a couple weeks of practicing on Lone Wolf in the parking lot, I purchased my first “real road legal motorcycle.” I took it out for a spin. So this is what it feels like to have a front brake! After browsing the internet for some used gear I finally found some cheap gear that fit me. If you’re ever in NH keep your eye open for the chick in the Suzuki DR350SE with her Pink Helmet and Coat. I enjoy riding through New Hampshire’s Mountains. Maybe if I am lucky I can convince the boyfriend to take me with him on one of this next adventures! Ride Safe!
