Boots! Uuuuugggghhhh!

by Mary
(Texas)

Okay, I have a pair of functional boots that I bought when I first got my license. They look "pretty" and are fine for riding but other than that they're KILLING my feet! I can't stand or walk in them for any length of time without my feet SCREAMING at me. I've tried new insoles but none seem to help, so my question is two-fold:

#1 does anyone have recommendations for a good riding boot that is also comfy enough to walk around in if we stop to site see somewhere? and

#2 does anyone have those Joe Rocket Orbit boots and how do you like them if you do? I'm considering trying them.

Thanks.

Docs for sure
by: Anonymous

Docs are great! Great soles - sturdy and non-slip. Mine have a platform sole, which gives me some added height as well. Once Docs are broken in, they are comfy, durable and will last forever. Enjoy!

Boots! Yay!

I have the Frye Engineer 12R in red. They look and feel great. I really like the neoprene oil resistant sole and the adjustable buckle on the ankle. I get compliments on them too. They aren't inexpensive, but I like that I can wear them anytime, not just when I'm riding.

Everyday BOOTS
by: Robin

I ride everyday so I had to find something I could wear Everyday. I do work at a construction co so I don't have to dress up, thank goodness. I wear Men's work boots from Wal-mart of all places. $40 Laced up leather boots and steel toes. Brahma. My feet and ankles love me for it

the boots i choose!
by: Anita

I dont buy "riding" boots inparticular. I buy slip-resistant boots from Skechers....they are super comfortable and give me the protection I need while riding. In my opinion, "riding" boots are going to be more expensive because they are tailored to a specific target market. I choose to buy what I like, for comfort and price. They work just fine while riding my 2008 Victory Kingpin!!!

touring boots

I have a pair of Oxtar boots had them 4 years now still in good shape side zip with ankle and shin protection. I'd rather wear these than anything else they are molded for the female foot not just scaled down from mens.

these boots were made for 'walking'(as well as riding)

I wear a pair of Red Wings...great for standing around or walking as well as riding, good support, side zipper, good soles. Not fancy, just plain leather black boots. Not too expensive either.

I have the buckle Xelement boots from leatherup.com
They're so comfortable I wear them to work even when I'm not riding my bike in. I'm on my feet for 5 hours straight. They're more comfy than my sketchers sneakers which make my feet ache if I stand in them that long. And they're really light for a boot. Great traction while at a stop on the bike too. The roads are made of coral here, so wearing anything other than those boots make my feet feel slippery when stopped.

I have a pair of HD Piper boots that are so comfortable that I wear them to work with dress pants. Until I scuff them up too much, that is. They zip up the side. I did have to have my shift lever raised a little bit to get the boot underneath because of the design of the boot but husband did that in about 2 minutes so that was an easy fix. I always say that my feet are claustriphobic and wear open back shoes or flip-flops as often as possible so for me to say I love to wear these boots is really saying something. I highly recommend them.

Great boot

I'm not promoting any brand, but I have a pair of H-D Alysa boots (tie in front with zippers on both sides - they're very easy to get in and out of and they have no other hardware), and they are the most comfortable thing I've ever worn! I'm riding a Honda Rebel :)
