Just returned from the 5th annual Womens Sportbike Rally in North Carolina. What a great group of ladies. There were 50 of in attendance (plus a few husbands & BF's) from all over. Some of actually road from as far away as Minnesota (1,100+ mile) and Oklahoma (875 miles).
Our check-in and registration was Friday, that night there was a meet & greet with food & pictures sponsored by the Dragons Tail Resort. Saturday was very wet but a few brave ladies still rode the rest of us just sit around got acquainted, made new friends ate and shared our experiences and love of riding. Saturday we all met for eats and the drawing for door prizes. They went through and drew each ladies name at least 3 time, yes there were that many give-a-ways. There were at least 6 different type riding jackets from Shift, Aprilia, CorTech, 2 sets of tires, 2 pairs of riding boots, just about everyone got a new pair of really nice gauntlet type gloves, K&N filters, microfiber cloths and so many other things I can't remember them all.
If this sounds like your type of riding, put this on your calendar for next year. In the mean time check out their webpage at www.womenssportbikerally.com or find them on FaceBook.
Hope to see some new faces next year.
PS...Yes I rode the 875 miles to the rally on my Yamaha. What a great time.
