2007 Yamaha VStar Midnight Custom
by Paula Gillespie
My husband taught me how to ride on a GZ250. It didn't take long before I grew out of that bike and started shopping for a bigger bike. I'm 5'4", so I wanted a bike with a low seat height. I sat on every bike made. The VStar fit me perfectly. I walked into the showroom ready to buy just a stock bike when I saw her. They had lowered (the already low) bike, added the small boulevard windshield, fringed saddlebags, tank bib, drag bars, and custom grips. I sat on her and knew she was the bike for me. Since that day back in 2007, I have added Roadburner pipes, chrome air cleaner cover and K&N filter, sissy bar and drivers backrest, mirrors, headlight and turn signal visors, engine guards, highway pegs, chrome horn cover, folding stirrup pegs, clock, thermometer, Highway Rumble speakers and an IPod holder, and a clutch adjustment kit. My husband and I like taking trips on our bikes. I have ridden my bike from Pennsylvania (where we live) to Rhode Island, Tennessee, and in the mountains of Pennsylvania. He has a Harley Dyna Glide and my bike keeps up with his without a problem. It's very comfortable on long trips. I ride my bike every chance I get. Short or long trips, doesn't matter, I just love to ride. This bike is a great bike for women.
