2005 Harley Roadking, 2005 Harley Fatboy, and 1992 Harley Sportster
by Sassy
Ol' Betsy and Me on our 2nd trip to the Hill Country Well where do I start? After 30 plus years riding behind my husband I got brave enough to take the Motorcycle Safety Class and get my license in May of 2006. I actually bought myself a 1992 sportster at the salvage yard and drove to Ablilene to pick her up and my husband repaired it for me. It only had minor dents and scratches and needed a new front fork. It was ready to ride in August and I got to ride with my husband and my 2 sons all together for my husbands birthday. What a great day it was? I rode this sportster all different colors and different tanks and all that for about 1 year. I was afraid to fix her up too nice because I thought if I did I would just drop her and mess her up. I guess my thoughts were ok, but I never dropped her. When I wanted to go ride one day and Ol'Betsy was in the garage behind other bikes, the hubby told me if I wanted to go ride with him I would have to ride the fatboy. So I bit the bullet and climbed on her and never looked back. I rode her for about a year and my hubby found a roadking at the salvage and bought her. After getting her road worthy he gave her to me. Purple, my favorite color same as the Fatboy. He did some tweaking on her to make her fit me and I have been riding her for 2 years now. I occasionally pull the fatboy out and ride her also, and keep her around because she fits me much better and I feel more comfortable on her to ride by myself. The roadking is more for highway riding with the hubby and to keep up with him, but she does ride ssoooo good with her airride and bags on her. She is more for traveling long distance. Being only 5'2" tall I tend to get in a bind when I park Queeny sometimes and need my hubby to help me get her out of tight spots or off slanted ground. Chromey is my fatboy and she is purple also. Then I still have Ol'Betsy (sportster), but I have actually renamed her after hubby redone her again Her new name is Phat Gyrl because she now looks like a miniature fatboy with fat wheels and all. I'll see if I have pictures of all my bikes and post them on here.
