Donna and the Bull

At 50 years old, I decided to get a bike. My husband had been looking at a scooter, so I surprised him by taking the MSF course…. Then I surprised myself by liking a bigger bike! I fell in love with the BMW, I felt comfortable in the higher upright seating. I found “the Bull” on Craigslist and bought him... While my husband was out of town! Once home I felt sick and wondered what have I done. Then I spent 2 hours reading this blog. The words of support and encouragement you have for one another buoyed my faith that I had made the right decision. I remember one gal saying, "buy the bike you love and learn to ride it". My fear of having made the wrong decision fell away and now I cant wipe the smile from my face as I ride along.

Hi Donna ..

Well done ... and you did choose one of the best bikes ever (had one for 8 years ... same color and all ... did ride all over Europe on it ... a wonderful bike!!!) Keep up the good attitude and just ride it for what it is ... thé one and only bike .. Hope you still have it *smiling* or maybe got a BMW R1200RT?? It does ride verygood too ... but can't follow the 1150RT in good looks .. nothing can ... those curves .. that shape (yes I'm talking 'bout the bike *smiling* ;-) ...)

Right on!

You made the right decision girl! I too did the MSF course (last weekend in fact), and those are some itty bitty bikes. After I got my license Monday and got on my own bike, a Suzuki Boulevard 800, in the parking lot to practice... I flat out thought 'Oh gawd, I can't do this. This is the wrong bike for me'. But my husband standing beside me and telling me that I can, convinced me. Yesterday I rode 100 miles, back roads and city with heavy traffic. It went wonderfully. We girls can do it! Ride safely on your gorgeous BMW. You look fantastic on it :-)
