2001 883 Hugger (HD XLH)
by Melissa Gunn
I got my baby in 2005 from a lady that wrecked her by hitting a tree and never got back on, she had 548 miles and was like new. My bike was completely stock with a HD windshield and leather saddle bags added. As soon as I got her I added forward controls and that made her perfect for me, I have not changed anything since. My bike has buck horn handle bars which I love, I never have my hands go numb no matter how long I am riding. I don't know that I would say a Sportster is the best bike for a lady to ride, even though most men seem to think it is. They are top heavy and fall over fairly easily, I do not have a lot of upper body strength and therefore have a hard time keeping her up in certain situations. In all other ways she is a joy to ride and I must admit that I love her.
